Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen (*Kitee, Finlandia, 17 de agosto de 1977) es una soprano y celebridad finlandesa, famosa ya que formaba parte del grupo de power metal sinfónico Nightwish, donde combinó el entrenamiento clásico y lírico de su voz con la instrumentación del heavy metal. En octubre de 2005 fue expulsada de Nightwish por diferencias con el resto de componentes y reemplazada por la sueca Anette Olzon.

Durante los 9 años que participó con Nightwish fue considerada como una de las voces más importantes del metal sinfónico. Ahora Tarja está trabajando en la vertiente clásica y metalera por su propia cuenta.
